During the San Diego International Comics
Convention, a new promotional video was revealed for the anime
adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Junji Ito ,
“ Uzumaki:
Spiral into Horror .” The video confirms that the premiere
is scheduled for September 28 on both Adult Swim and streaming
services.
Although the series is confirmed with
only four episodes , it has been delayed on a wide
variety of occasions. Originally scheduled to premiere in 2020, it was delayed
to 2021, then to October-2022, and then indefinitely to June-2022.
Uzumaki Synopsis
In the town of Kurouzu-cho, Kirie
Goshima lives a relatively normal life with her family. However, one day when
she was walking to the station to meet her boyfriend, Shuuichi Saito, she
notices that her father is staring at a snail shell in an alley. Without giving
it much thought, she Kirie tells Shuuichi the situation, to which he replies
that her father has also been acting very strange. Shuuichi
also reveals his desire to escape the village with Kirie, claiming that people
have become obsessed with the spirals. But her father's obsession soon turns
deadly, beginning a chain of horrifying and inexplicable events.
