On the official website for the television
network Adult Swim, a new promotional video was revealed for
the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Junji Ito ,
“ Uzumaki: Spiral into Horror .” The video
confirms again that the premiere is scheduled for next September 28 on
both Adult Swim and on streaming services a day later ( HBO
Max ).
Although the series is confirmed to have only four
episodes, it has been delayed on a number of occasions. Originally
scheduled to premiere in 2020, it was pushed back to 2021, then to October
2022, and then indefinitely to June 2022.
Synopsis of Uzumaki
In the town of Kurouzu-cho, Kirie Goshima lives a
relatively normal life with her family. However, one day while walking to the
station to meet her boyfriend, Shuuichi Saito, she notices her father staring
intently at a snail shell in an alley. Without giving it much thought, Kirie
tells Shuuichi about the situation, to which Shuuichi replies that his father
has also been acting very strange. Shuuichi
also reveals his desire to escape the town with Kirie, claiming that people
have become obsessed with spirals. But his father's obsession soon turns
deadly, starting a chain of horrifying and inexplicable events.
