The manga adaptation of “ Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte “ ( Tsundere Akuyaku Reijou Liselotte to Jikkyou no Endou-kun to Kaisetsu no Kobayashi-san ), directed by Rumiwo Sasaki, has been suddenly canceled within Kadokawa's B's-LOG Comic magazine.

The publisher issued an official statement in which it deeply apologizes for the errors that led to this decision:

  • « The cancellation is due to a lack of coordination and mistakes on the part of the publisher, which has caused great inconvenience to both readers who were hoping for the resumption and the creators involved. We deeply apologize to everyone, including the author Suzu Enoshima and the person in charge of the adaptation, Rumiwo Sasaki .»

For his part, Sasaki also issued a message to fans, expressing his gratitude for the support received and apologizing for not being able to continue the work as planned. He also mentioned that the cancellation should have been announced along with the release of the seventh volume on August 30, but complications delayed the announcement.

And he continued:

  • « I was finally able to break the news. The truth is that we should have announced it at the same time as the release of the seventh volume, or at least when the decision was made in early July. I deeply regret the delay in the announcement. I felt that keeping it a secret that there would be no more chapters after the seventh volume at the time of its release was completely dishonest, so I asked the editorial staff to release a preliminary announcement. In the coming days, we will provide more details and a formal apology .»

The cancellation of the manga adaptation has sparked a wave of criticism on social media and forums , with many fans expressing frustration at Kadokawa's handling of the situation. Some of the most notable comments include:

  • « Kadokawa's terrible editing again. Just like with Kancolle and Girls und Panzer, when will they stop being so irresponsible with manga adaptations? »
  • « From the first chapter, Tsundere Reijou Liselotte had careful representation and beautiful illustrations. If this was caused by editorial incompetence, Kadokawa has really outdone itself ».
  • « Did they really cancel the Tsundere Reijou Liselotte manga? The anime was really fun and I was looking forward to the sequel »
  • « Wait a minute, this isn't like The Last Summoner, where it was a health problem for the illustrator. How could the publisher make such a coordination error? »
  • If you don't give a clear reason, fans won't accept it. Kadokawa, do your job well! "
  • The fact that the editorial department admits that it was a mistake means that something serious happened ."

The community is visibly shaken by the abrupt cancellation, especially since the series, both in its anime and manga versions, had been well received. This incident has once again put Kadokawa's editorial management in the spotlight, which in recent years has been at the center of various controversies related to cancellations and problems in the manga adaptations of various franchises. Although the light novel is still pending, what other manga adaptation could be suddenly cancelled due to errors by the publisher itself?

Synopsis of Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte

The story follows Shihono Kobayashi, a member of the broadcasting club who introduces her friend Aoto Endou to the otome game MagiKoi. The two comment on and analyze the behavior of the game's villain, Lieselotte Riefenstahl, who, despite her cold demeanor, actually harbors deep feelings of friendship toward the protagonist and is in love with her fiancé, Prince Siegwald Fitzenhagen. However, in almost every route of the game, Lieselotte is destined for a tragic end. As they play, Endou and Kobayashi's comments are overheard by the prince within the game, giving them the opportunity to intervene as "gods" and change the tsundere villain's fate.
