A press release reported that the manga written and illustrated by Sai Naekawa , “ This Monster Wants to Eat Me ( Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi ),” will be getting an anime adaptation. The release listed production details and revealed that the anime will premiere sometime in 2025 in Japan.


Author Sai Naekawa shared a special illustration to celebrate this announcement , accompanied by the following comment:

For his part, Sai Naekawa began publishing the manga through Kadokawa magazine's Dengeki Maoh magazine in August 2020. He previously participated in some anthologies such as “Lycoris Recoil: Koushiki Comic Anthology – Reload” and “Watashi no Yuri wa Oshigoto” desu! Koushiki Comic Anthology.

Synopsis of This Monster Wants to Eat Me

“I have come to eat you,” Shiori the mermaid softly says as she emerges from the sea and takes high school girl Hinako by the hand. Hinako lives alone in a seaside village and possesses an unusually delicious body that proves irresistible to nearby monsters. To ensure that she matures in the best conditions, Shiori tries to protect Hinako, all so that one day she can devour every piece of her. What will become of Hinako’s feelings when this unjust death approaches her…?
