Romance
stories between girls who know how to get straight to the heart have a special
charm, and when you combine a sensitive narrative with a stellar cast, the
result promises to be a real wonder. The anime adaptation of the acclaimed yuri
manga Amayo no Tsuki (The Moon on a Rainy Night) formally
presented its first official trailer, confirming the main voices that will lead
the project and setting its premiere for the year 2027.
The first
video trailer revealed that actress Iori Saeki will lend her voice to
Saki Kindaichi, while the renowned Sora Amamiya will play Kanon Oikawa.
The production is in charge of the CompTown studio, with the direction
of Tomoe Makino. The supervision and writing of the scripts is in the
hands of Shogo Yasukawa, while Ayumi Nishibata is in charge of
the design of the characters and the soundtrack is under the signature of the
musical group jizue.
The plot
introduces us to Saki, a young woman who runs to her piano lesson on a rainy
night when she accidentally bumps into a beautiful girl with long hair,
dropping her sheet music. Although Saki immediately apologizes, the young woman
returns the papers and walks away silently. The next morning, during her first
day in high school, Saki discovers that the same girl sits right next to her
desk. There she learns that her name is Kanon and that she suffers from a
hearing impairment, which leads her to keep her distance from others. However,
a small gesture of kindness on Saki's part will begin to break down those
barriers to make way for a very special feeling.
The
creative team for this production is completed with the direction assistance of
Seung Deok Kim and Tsutomu Tomoyuki, the art direction of Mai Ichioka, the
cinematography of Atsushi Sato, the sound direction of Nobuyuki Abe and the
animation production led by Masao Yamamura.
Amayo no
Tsuki is a Yuri
manga series written and illustrated by Kuzushiro. The work began its
digital serialization on Kodansha's Comic Days website in June 2021,
remaining in constant publication and accumulating twelve compilation volumes
in the Japanese market.
The author
has an outstanding career within the medium, also being the creator of works
such as Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san, which had its own thirteen-episode
animated adaptation in 2014, and Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu, a series
that made the leap to television in October 2025. With this new project,
Kuzushiro once again captivates with a story focused on empathy, personal
development and overcoming communication barriers.
