“Arcane” showrunner Christian Linke has officially
confirmed that three new TV series based on the “ League of Legends ” universe are
in production. Following the end of “Arcane” Season 2, which
concluded the Piltover story in spectacular fashion, Riot Games is ready to
expand its cinematic universe into new regions of the vast world of Runeterra.

In a recent interview on Twitch with streamer
Necrit94, Linke revealed that Riot Games’ upcoming TV projects have already
been in development for about a year. He further stated that the company has
big plans to continue telling stories both new and connected to existing ones.
“ We’re far from finished building a series of projects to tell new
stories and continue other ones ,” the co-creator stated.
Among the most notable revelations, Linke confirmed
that the three new series will be set in Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia, three of
the most iconic regions in “ League of Legends . ” This
represents a significant change from Arcane, which focused exclusively on
Piltover and Zaun. The decision to move the narrative to these new settings
promises to introduce new champions and explore cultures, conflicts, and
traditions that have been key to the game’s lore.
With the richness of the “League of Legends”
narrative, these three regions offer a wide range of possibilities:
- Noxus is known for its expansionist and ruthless nature, where
champions like Darius, Swain, and Riven have excelled. A series set here
could explore themes of war, power, and betrayal.
- Ionia , in contrast, is a land of spiritual balance and martial
arts, which could delve into the struggle between tradition and modernity,
with characters like Irelia, Yasuo, and Akali.
- Demacia is a realm of honor and justice, but with an undercurrent of
oppression and dark secrets. A series based in this region could focus on
social and political tensions, as well as connections to champions like
Lux, Garen, and Sylas.
The announcement of these new series not only
reinforces Riot Games' commitment to developing its narrative universe, but
also underlines Arcane's success as a pioneer in expanding this world beyond
the video game. The series format allows for a deeper exploration of
the stories, which has led Arcane to become one of the most acclaimed animated
productions of recent years.
The transition to Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia also opens
the door for more creative freedom, as these regions have unique
characteristics that can be developed without the limitations of returning to
Piltover. It also allows fans to meet a wider variety of
champions and understand the relationships that connect each corner of
Runeterra.
On social media, fans have been enthusiastically
welcoming the news, speculating about which champions might appear and how Riot
will approach the different narrative styles required to represent each
region. Many have expressed their desire to see epic conflicts and
memorable moments that enrich the game's lore (or change it entirely).
