On the
official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated
by Egumi Sora , “ OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an
Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She's Saying “, a new promotional video for
the project was revealed. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled
for next January 4, 2025 in Japan , and shows a fragment of
the opening theme titled “Dai Dai Daisuki” and performed by HY .
Egumi Sora
began publishing the manga through Shinchosha ’s Kurage Bunch service
in January 2020, where it is still in serialization. Although she has written
other works such as “ Batsu Gal ”, “ Amano-ke Yotsugo
wa Ketsuekigata ga Zenin Chigau ” and “ Nipongo ”,
this is the first one to get an anime adaptation.
Synopsis
of The Dialect of the Girl I Fell in Love With in Okinawa is Too Difficult to
Deal With
The
story follows Teruaki Nakamura, a boy who moved from Tokyo to Okinawa, where he
develops a crush on a girl named Hina Kyan. However, Teruaki faces the
difficulty of understanding Hina's Okinawan dialect. Fortunately, he has the
constant help of Kana Higa, a friend of Hina's, who is in charge of translating
the dialect for him. Unbeknownst to Teruaki, is that Kana secretly has feelings
for him as well, thus creating a fun and slightly different cultural love story
on the southern island.
