On the official site for the original anime by Olympus
Knights and A-1 Pictures , “ Aldnoah.Zero ”,
the production of a compilation film was announced that will include an
additional episode titled “ Episode 24.5: Fragment of Rain – The
Penultimate Truth ”, and whose release is scheduled for February 28,
2025 in theaters in Japan.
Written by Gen Urobuchi and directed
by Ei Aoki , the series features main Japanese voice acting
by Natsuki Hanae , Sora Amamiya , and Kensho
Ono . The series began in July 2014, and as of March 2015, had run for
two two-episode seasons, with Urobuchi, Katsuhiko Takayama ,
and Shinsuke Onishi , and then Hiroyuki Sawano and Kalafina ,
respectively, receiving main writing and music credits.
Synopsis of Aldnoah.Zero
The discovery of a hypergate on the Moon once allowed the
human race to teleport to Mars. Those who decided to settle there discovered
technology far more advanced than that of their home planet, which they named
"Aldnoah." This discovery led to the founding of the Vers Empire of
Mars and a declaration of war against the "terrans," those who
remained on Earth. However, a battle on the moon - later called
"Skyfall" - caused the hypergate to explode, destroying the moon and
leading the two planets to establish an uneasy ceasefire.
However, peace was fragile. Fifteen years later, high
school student Inaho Kaizuka witnesses the assassination of Princess Asseylum
Vers Allusia of the Vers Empire, who had come to Earth in hopes of mending
relations between the empire and her homeland. The ceasefire breaks down, and
the Martians once again declare war on the Terrans. Faced with this
insurmountable enemy, Inaho and her friends must now fight the Vers Empire to
settle the war once and for all.
