An antihero will arrive in Scum of the Brave

A press release from LEED Publishing reported that Rocket Shokai and Nakashima723 's manga " Scum of the Brave ( Yuusha no Kuzu )" is getting an anime adaptation. The release didn't list production details or a scheduled premiere date, but did indicate that OLM Studios will be in charge of the animation.

The statement also included a message from the authors:

  • Nakashima723's comment: " I've been drawing this manga with the hope that everyone, even to the ends of the galaxy, would know about Yashiro and Shirogamine. To all the readers, and also to all the "production committee scum," thank you so much for finding Yuusha no Kuzu! "

  • Rocket Shokai's comment: " As a ramen lover, I will express this joy through a ramen metaphor. The passion of the team members involved in this project and the excellence of their work evoke the harmony of a clear yet umami-filled clam broth, combined with thin noodles that, although delicate, possess an unmatched firmness. I can't help but feel a great deal of anticipation. All of this has been possible thanks to the support of readers, so I look forward to the day we can savor this work together ."

Rocket Shokai began publishing the story through the independent service Kakuyomu in February 2016. The manga adaptation began in 2018 through LEED Publishing 's Comic Border service . The author also wrote the light novels " Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004 ", which will have an anime adaptation this year.

Synopsis of Scum of the Brave

In an alternate 21st century, wealthy members of the mafia can become "Demon Kings" thanks to ether enhancement surgery, a procedure that has become increasingly popular. To counter them, there are the "Braves," bounty hunters tasked with hunting them down.

Yashiro just wants to enjoy life's simple pleasures: pizza, beer, and card games. However, when three young Braves offer him an exorbitant sum to be their private tutor, he accepts solely for the money. But is what he's about to face really worth it?
