The
"Bungo Stray Dogs" anime is about to turn ten, and Kadokawa isn't
planning on letting the date go unnoticed. The publisher announced a year-long
anniversary project, with events and collaborations until April 2026. To kick
things off, they've already revealed the official tenth anniversary logo and
confirmed twelve special projects that will be revealed monthly.
Among the
first confirmed events are:
- Nightly anime marathons , which will begin in
April 2025 with screenings of past seasons and discussions with special
guests.
- The exhibition will return to
the Chuya Nakahara Memorial Museum from May 8 to June 30, 2025, with
panels, photo spots, and exclusive merchandise.
- New collaborative covers from
Kadokawa Bunko ,
featuring two franchise-inspired designs, are coming out in June 2025.
- " Natsume-sensei's
Wandering Journey ," a campaign where the famous tricolor
cat will appear in Animate stores in Japan and abroad from April 1, 2025.
While
the celebration has fans excited, what they're really hoping for is the
announcement of a sixth season of the anime. However, the odds don't seem to be in
their favor. The series is already almost up to date with the manga, and
considering that chapters are released monthly, many believe that if there is a
new season, it wouldn't arrive for another three to five years.
Still,
there's enough material to keep the franchise alive in the meantime. Between spin-offs, light
novels that could be adapted into films, and the possibility of more original
content like Dead Apple, it wouldn't be surprising if Kadokawa leveraged the
success of Bungo Stray Dogs to continue expanding its universe. The question
is: will they invest in more animated content while we wait for a new
season?
Adding
to this is the fact that the fifth season ended on a major cliffhanger, leaving
the story on a tense and unresolved cliffhanger. Furthermore, the anime's official account
has made it clear that this isn't over, implying that more content is on the
way. Even the final episode ended with a "To Be Continued"
message, leading fans to speculate about what kind of sequel might arrive
first. Rumor has it that a new anime could focus primarily on Atsushi
and Ryunosuke, but for now, we just have to wait for more details.
With so
many events and projects on the way, the franchise is more alive than ever, but
the big question remains: When will the long-awaited sixth season arrive?
