Through a
press release, David Production Studios announced the
production of a new original anime titled " Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth ", scheduled to
premiere in the Summer-2025 period (July-September) in Japan . The
release listed production details and the voice cast for the project.
Additionally, Fujiko
Sakuno is in charge of a manga adaptation that is published
through Kodansha 's Morning Two magazine
since February 2025.
Synopsis
of Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth
The
anime is set in an alternate version of Heian-kyou, the former name of Kyoto
and the capital city during Japan's Heian era. This alternate version of the
city is called Denji Heian-kyou (The Tranquil Capital of Divine Lightning). A
delinquent high school student named Takeru Narehira resides in our world, but
after an unfortunate accident, he is transported to Denji Heian-kyou. Here, he
immediately meets Tsukimiya, a woman he has seen many times in dreams.
Barely a
moment passes after that encounter when Takeru and Tsukimiya encounter an oni
monster, and are killed. Takeru awakens, stunned to find himself back in Denji
Heian-kyou. He realizes that he has the power to rewind time. He now resolves
to learn this world's version of the mystical onmyojutsu techniques, and become
an onmyoji sorcerer to save Tsukimiya.
