A press
release from Kadokawa reported that Takuji Katou 's
comedy manga " Demons Plan Something Good! ( Ma
no Mono-tachi wa Kuwadateru )" is getting an anime adaptation.
The release didn't reveal a scheduled premiere date, but did list that
TNK Studios will be producing , a surprise considering the studio
hasn't been heard from for a while.
In
addition, comments from the authors of the work were included:
- Takuji Kato's comment: I can't believe "Demons
Plan Something Good!" is getting an anime adaptation! This project
started as a simple hobby manga, a spontaneous idea I posted on social
media. However, thanks to my editor, who suggested serializing it, the
incredible Gashigashi-sensei, who always delivers spectacular art, and,
most importantly, all the readers who have supported and enjoyed the work,
we've made it this far. I'm excited to see how this story continues to
evolve with even more "demonic magic." I'm looking
forward to this next chapter!
- Gashigashi's
Comment: It's an honor that "Demons Plan Something Good!" is
getting an anime adaptation! This achievement is possible thanks to
everyone who worked on the show and the readers who have supported us from
the beginning. Thank you so much! I can't wait to see these peculiar
demons running around causing chaos on the TV screen. I can't wait!
For his
part, Takuji Katou began publishing the manga through his
personal Twitter account in 2022, and then the publishing house Kadokawa began
publishing it through the DraDra Sharp service with
illustrations by Gashigashi in March 2023. He previously
published works such as " Mechanical Buddy Universe 1.0 "
and the manga adaptation of " Knight's & Magic ",
which got an anime adaptation in 2017.
Production team
- Takuya Asaoka ( Immoral Guild,
Redo of Healer, VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn
Off My Stream ) is directing the anime at TNK Studios
.
Synopsis
of Demons Plan Something Good!
While
things like slimes that melt clothes or tentacle traps may seem simple or even
trivial to humans, behind each of these traps lies the effort, dedication, and
tears of a demon. This is a quirky comedy that shows us the lesser-known side
of demons, revealing their struggles and difficulties when creating the traps
that adventurers face in dungeons and other fantasy settings.
What may
seem like a simple obstacle to humans is, for demons, the result of hard work,
filled with effort and frustration. The story, which originated on Twitter, has
captivated readers with its humor and absurd situations. Now, in addition to
its success on social media, it's expanding with new, previously unpublished
short stories, offering even more comedic moments about the lives of these
demons and their curious dilemmas.
