It looks
like the farewell to " Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club "
continues to take shape with more news for its final trilogy. In a previous article , we talked about the premiere
of the first film on September 6, which marked the beginning of the conclusion
of this sub-franchise.
Now, during
the AnimeJapan 2025 event, it has been confirmed that the second film
will hit theaters in Japan on November 7. Additionally, it was
revealed that six members of the group—Karin, Ai, Setsuna, Rina, Shioriko, and
Mia—will embark on a trip through the Kansai region, visiting the cities of
Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe.
On the
other hand, starting April 1, several streaming platforms in Japan will offer
the first film. Additionally,
advance tickets (MoviTicke Cards) for the second film will go on sale on Sunday
at 4:10 p.m. (Japan time). As an added bonus, the franchise also continues to
expand into other media, with the visual novel " Love Live!
Nijigasaki High School Idol Club TOKIMEKI Roadmap to Future " set
for release on April 24, and a theme song album titled " Eternalize
Love " scheduled for release on May 14.
As fans
prepare to say goodbye to the franchise forever with this trilogy of films,
it's worth reviewing the details revealed so far:
- " Love Live!
Nijigasaki High School Idol Club " is a sub-franchise of the
" Love Live !" multiverse, born from the video
game " Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars "
in 2017. Unlike μ's
and Aqours, they are a group of individual school idols who compete
against each other to keep their school afloat. Precisely for this reason,
they do not have a name as a group, and are simply known as the
" Nijigasaki Academy School Idol Club ".
- In addition to its obvious
involvement in the music world, Sunrise's anime adaptations include two
seasons in Fall 2020 (October-December) and Spring 2022 (April-June),
totaling twenty-six episodes, as well as the OVA " Love Live!
Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Next Sky " in June 2023,
and a comedy spin-off titled " Nijiyon Animation ".
- The voice cast includes Hinaki
Yano, Aguri Onishi, Akina Homoto, Akari Kitou, Shuu Uchida, Natsumi
Murakami, Chiemi Tanaka, Kaori Maeda, Mayu Sagara, Miyu Kubota, Maria
Sashide, Moeka Koizumi, and Coco Hayashi .
- The production team includes
names such as Tomoyuki Kawamura in direction at Sunrise , Jin
Tanaka in writing and supervising the scripts, Takumi
Yokota in character design and animation direction with Kerorira in
charge of visual design, and Naoki Endou in soundtrack
composition.
- The story centers on Yuu
Takasaki, a second-year student at Nijigasaki High School, who is drawn to
the world of school idols and, along with her friend Ayumu Uehara, decides
to join the club. As they interact with their classmates, they
discover that each of them has their own dreams and reasons for being in
the club, becoming friends and rivals at the same time.
