The novel All You Need Is Kill will have an anime

The story inspired the plot of the Hollywood film, "Edge of Tomorrow," released in 2014 and starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.


Through a press release, Warner Bros. Japan announced that Hiroshi Sakurazaka and Yoshitoshi ABe 's novels " All You Need Is Kill " will have an anime adaptation. According to the release, the project is a feature-length film produced by Studio 4°C and directed by Kenichiro Akimoto ( Children of the Sea, Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko ), but will tell the story from a different perspective than the one seen in the Hollywood film, " Edge of Tomorrow ".


The director commented on this adaptation: " I'm honored to be involved in the animated film adaptation of this wonderful novel. This work, which has already been adapted into manga and film in Hollywood, now takes on new life in anime form. With STUDIO 4's distinctive visual expression, I hope to further enhance the value of this story. I also hope that those who watch it can find a small ray of hope in their daily lives ."




For theirpart, Hiroshi Sakurazaka and Yoshitoshi ABe published the original novel in December 2004 through Shueisha publishing house . A manga adaptation by Takeshi Obata and Ryosuke Takeuchi was published through the same publisher's Young Jump magazine between January and May 2014. As previously mentioned, the story inspired the plot of the Hollywood film , " Edge of Tomorrow ", released in 2014 and starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt .

Following an invasion by an unidentified plant from outer space, Rita finds herself trapped in a time loop, forced to relive the same day over and over again. With each loop, she learns. She fights.
