Following
the airing of today's episode, it was announced that the anime " Toilet-Bound
Hanako-kun ( Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun )" will
have a new sequel that will premiere July-2025 in Japan , and that it
will air on Sundays at 4:30 p.m. (Japan Time). Although this last detail is not
important to us, it actually reveals that the sequel in question will be a
series of episodes.
Although
no details about this sequel were revealed , the release included an illustration by
author Iro Aida to celebrate this announcement.
It's
definitely a surprise that a sequel scheduled for release in just a few months
is being announced ,
so you shouldn't miss the details of the franchise so far:
- "Toilet-Bound
Hanako-kun" is a manga by Iro Aida, serialized in Square Enix's
Monthly G Fantasy magazine since 2014. The spin-off "After-School
Hanako-kun" ran in pixiv Comic from February 2018 to October 2021,
with a compiled book volume in 2019.
- The first season of the anime
premiered in January 2020 with 12 episodes. In October 2023, the short
anime "After-School Hanako-kun" premiered with four
episodes. The second season of the main series began on January
12, 2024. Crunchyroll is handling international
distribution.
- The second season is directed
by Youhei Fukui at Lerche , replacing Masaomi
Andou . Yasuhiro Nakanishi returns as
scriptwriter, and Mayuka Itou as character designer. The
theme songs are L'oN by Masayoshi Ooishi (opening theme)
and With a Wish by Akari Kitou (ending theme).
- At Kamome Academy, rumors
circulate about the school's "Seven Mysteries." Nene Yashiro, a
student interested in the occult, summons Hanako-san, the bathroom spirit,
hoping her wish will be granted. However, to her surprise,
Hanako-san turns out to be a boy, and thus begins her adventure into the
world of the paranormal.
