Following the airing of today's episode, it was announced that the anime " Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun ( Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun )" will have a new sequel that will premiere July-2025 in Japan , and that it will air on Sundays at 4:30 p.m. (Japan Time). Although this last detail is not important to us, it actually reveals that the sequel in question will be a series of episodes.

Although no details about this sequel were revealed , the release included an illustration by author Iro Aida to celebrate this announcement.

It's definitely a surprise that a sequel scheduled for release in just a few months is being announced , so you shouldn't miss the details of the franchise so far:

  • "Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun" is a manga by Iro Aida, serialized in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine since 2014. The spin-off "After-School Hanako-kun" ran in pixiv Comic from February 2018 to October 2021, with a compiled book volume in 2019.

  • The first season of the anime premiered in January 2020 with 12 episodes. In October 2023, the short anime "After-School Hanako-kun" premiered with four episodes. The second season of the main series began on January 12, 2024. Crunchyroll is handling international distribution.

  • The second season is directed by Youhei Fukui at Lerche , replacing Masaomi Andou . Yasuhiro Nakanishi returns as scriptwriter, and Mayuka Itou as character designer. The theme songs are L'oN by Masayoshi Ooishi (opening theme) and With a Wish by Akari Kitou (ending theme).

  • At Kamome Academy, rumors circulate about the school's "Seven Mysteries." Nene Yashiro, a student interested in the occult, summons Hanako-san, the bathroom spirit, hoping her wish will be granted. However, to her surprise, Hanako-san turns out to be a boy, and thus begins her adventure into the world of the paranormal.
