Dandadan excites with a trailer for its second season

The surprises just keep coming for "Dandadan" fans! We recently told you in another piece that the anime's second season will premiere in Summer 2025 (between July and September), and that Abel Góngora, a talented Spanish animator, is joining the project as the second director. We also saw a stunning key visual that showed us Momo, Okarun, and even the legendary Turbo Grandma in action.

Well, now the news keeps coming. The first official promotional video for the new season has just been released, and honestly, it looks spectacular! In this new trailer, we can see that mysterious guy in his underwear (yes, the one we mentioned earlier, called Evil Eye) moving around, saying things like, "I finally got a body," making it clear that he's going to be a serious problem for the team.

Plus, a strange creature with a huge mouth appears, clearly not coming in peace. The trailer shows how these beings begin attacking Momo, Okarun, Gigi, and Turbo Grandma, with scenes full of tension and lots of paranormal action. It's going to be awesome!

As a reminder, the second season launches on July 3rd, airing on the Super Animeism TURBO block on MBS, TBS, and 28 other networks in Japan (and will obviously also be available on international streaming services). And if you want to refresh your memory, the first season is already streaming on the Animeism B2 block on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS, so it's the perfect time to binge-watch before the new batch of episodes arrives.

With everything coming up, it looks like Dandadan is going to get even crazier and funnier, so if you got hooked on the first season... get ready because the best is yet to come.

  • Yukinobu Tatsu's original manga continues to run on Shueisha's Shonen Jump Plus digital service , and its nineteenth volume recently hit stores in Japan.

  • Meanwhile, the long-awaited second season of the Dandadan anime now has a release date set for July 2025. Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream it worldwide at the same time as its Japanese release. The first season premiered on October 3, 2023, and consisted of 12 episodes.

  • As for the production team for this new installment, Fuuga Yamashiro and Spanish animator Abel Góngora will be directing at the Science SARU studio. Hiroshi Seko will once again be in charge of the scripts, while Kensuke Ushio will put his stamp on the soundtrack. Naoyuki Onda will design the main characters, and Yoshimichi Kameda will shape the terrifying supernatural creatures.

  • The story introduces us to Momo, a high school student with spiritual abilities, and Okarun, a passionate fan of all things occult. Together they embark on all sorts of paranormal adventures as they try to prove whether ghosts and aliens really exist. Along the way, Momo awakens a mysterious power, while Okarun ends up receiving a curse that grants him special abilities.
