Author  Anju Hino announced through her official X account (formerly Twitter) that her manga *Missing* , an adaptation of the popular Gakuto Coda novel series , will come to an end on May 27, 2025 .

The manga currently runs in Kadokawa 's Dengeki Maoh magazine , and was first released in May 2023. The first compiled book volume came out in October of that year, and the third was published on October 25, 2024 .

A story between two worlds

*Missing* follows Kyoichi Utsume , a high school student with a mysterious past: as a child, he was taken to the other world, but managed to return. Now, he's known for his all-black attire, arrogant attitude, and deep knowledge of the occult . Everything changes when he meets a mysterious girl, setting off events that irreversibly connect both worlds.

The original novel series consists of 13 volumes published between 2001 and 2005, with illustrations by Shin Midorikawa . Kadokawa relaunched the series between 2020 and 2022 with new covers illustrated by Mai Hanamura .

Other adaptations and works by Anju Hino

Prior to the current version, Rei Mutsuki 's *Missing: Kamikakushi no Monogatari* manga also adapted the novels in 2005 with three compiled volumes published by Kadokawa. Tokyopop published this version in the West alongside the first two volumes of the novels.

In addition to *Missing*, Anju Hino has worked on several other notable works. In January 2024, she began publishing the manga *Kyōganake no Hanayome* in Square Enix 's Gangan Joker magazine . She was also the author of *ECHIGOBAKUFU* , which was adapted into an anime in 2022 and aired on Niigata Sogo Television.

Another of her notable works is *My Unexpected Marriage* , based on the light novels by Mashimesa Emoto . The manga ended with its fourth volume in December 2021 and is currently available in English on Manga UP! Global and BookWalker Global Store .

With the end of *Missing*, Anju Hino closes another chapter of her career as a mangaka, leaving readers with a story of mystery, darkness and parallel dimensions that did not go unnoticed.
