This
Monday, Kadokawa publishing
house surprised manga fans by announcing the production of an anime
adaptation of 29-Sai Dokushin Chūken Bōkensha no Nichijō (The
Daily Life of a 29-Year-Old Adventurer), a work by mangaka Ippei Nara .
To celebrate the news, a teaser trailer has been
shared along with a special illustration made by the author himself.
A story
of adventure, loneliness, and an unexpected connection
The story
revolves around Shinonome Hajime , a 29-year-old seasoned
adventurer who lives a solitary life, exploring dungeons and battling
creatures. His life takes an unexpected turn when he rescues a girl
named Rirui from being eaten by a slime monster. Upon discovering that
she has been abandoned by her parents and has nowhere else to go, Hajime
decides to take her in, never imagining that the girl is hiding a mysterious
secret.
Cast and
crew confirmed
The main
cast will feature two renowned voices:
- Makoto Furukawa will play the
protagonist Shinonome Hajime .
- Sayumi Suzushiro will play Rirui .
Production
will be handled by the animation studio HORNETS , under the
direction of Riki Fukushima (known for Skate-Leading
Stars and Duel Masters LOST ). The scripts will also
be supervised by Fukushima. The character designs will be in the hands of Yoshihiro
Nagamori , responsible for titles such as Beyblade X and Bakugan
Battle Brawlers .
A work
that has grown in silence
The manga
launched in January 2016 in Kodansha 's Bessatsu
Shōnen Magazine , and is also available on the digital platform Magazine
Pocket . With a steady reader base, the work already has 18
volumes published as of December 2024, and volume 19 will go
on sale this Friday, May 3, 2025 .
With its
blend of adventure, tenderness, and fantasy , this adaptation
promises to captivate both new viewers and those who have followed the story
since its beginnings in the manga. An official release date has yet to be
revealed, but fans are already eagerly awaiting what is shaping up to be one of
next year's most emotional offerings.
