14 , theaters in the United States and Canada will receive a
special 4K screening of the film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu
no Yaiba – Mugen Train , and it will be accompanied by a highly
anticipated surprise: an exclusive teaser for the *Infinity Castle*
film trilogy , the next major installment in the universe created
by Koyoharu Gotouge .
The
re-release has been announced by Aniplex of America and Crunchyroll ,
and will include both Japanese language features with English subtitles and
English dubbing.
A
phenomenon that made history
Originally
released in October 2020 in Japan, Mugen Train quickly became
a cultural phenomenon. It was the first film to surpass the 40 billion
yen mark at the box office and became the highest-grossing
film worldwide in 2020 , also being the first outside of Hollywood to
achieve this milestone in over a century of cinema.
America in April 2021 thanks to Funimation and Aniplex ,
and is currently available on Crunchyroll . The story was
later adapted into a seven-episode arc for the animated series.
The
*Infinity Castle* trilogy now has a release date.
The first
film in the new trilogy, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle , is
set to open in Japan on July 18, 2025 . It will be shown
in 443 theaters across the country, including IMAX screenings
, a franchise record. In Spain and the rest of the world , the
release date is still unknown, but Aniplex plans to bring the film to
over 150 countries and regions , surpassing the reach of
previous installments.
In the
United States and Canada, the film will be released on September 12,
2025 , also in IMAX and other premium formats, available in both
Japanese with subtitles and dubbed in English.
*Demon
Slayer*, an unstoppable franchise
Since its
premiere in April 2019, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime
has been a success after success. Following Mugen Train , came
the Entertainment District arc (December 2021), Swordsmith
Village (April 2023), and the most recent, Hashira Training
Arc , which concluded in June 2024 after a 60-minute
special broadcast.
With the
Infinity Castle trilogy on
the horizon, the franchise promises to close out its story with a film worthy
