Masami Yuuki's historical work on the legendary Hōjō Sōun is nearing its conclusion after more than six years of publication.

Shogakukan  has confirmed that veteran author Masami Yuuki 's *Shinkurō, Hashiru!* historical manga has begun its final arc . The announcement came via the listing for the 20th compiled book volume , which will be published in Japan on July 11, 2025 .

A story based on true events

The work narrates the life of Ise Shinkurō , a daimyō of the Sengoku period who would later be known as Hōjō Sōun , a key figure in the unification of eastern Japan. The manga masterfully blends historical drama and action elements , faithfully depicting the power struggles and military strategies of feudal Japan.

A journey of more than six years

*Shinkurō, Hashiru!* began serialization in Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits magazine in January 2018 . The series was later moved to Weekly Big Comic Spirits in January 2020 , where it continues to run today. Volume 19 was released on March 12, 2025 .

Masami Yuuki: a career full of outstanding works

Masami Yuuki is known for titles such as *Tetsuwan Birdy Evolution* (2008–2012), a sequel to his successful *Tetsuwan Birdy* . Although the manga adaptations of the latter have not been officially published in North America, animated versions did reach the West thanks to companies such as Funimation and Central Park Media . Additionally, Viz Media distributed part of his work *Mobile Police Patlabor* .

With its detailed focus on Japanese history and refined art style, *Shinkurō, Hashiru!* is shaping up to be an epic farewell for readers who have faithfully followed Hōjō Sōun's rise from humble beginnings.
