The
" Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu ( Baka & Test: Summon the Beasts )"
franchise , based on the light novels written by Kenji Inoue and
illustrated by Yui Haga , has launched an official Twitter
account as part of its anniversary celebration, where it has been confirmed
that new projects related to the work will be revealed soon. The first
major announcement is scheduled for May 9.
" From
now on, we will be sharing various information from this account, so we
appreciate your follow and RT. The next information reveal is scheduled for
Friday, May 9 ," the official post states.
This
announcement has generated considerable anticipation among fans, who
are speculating about the possibility of a return of the franchise in the form
of a new anime adaptation , considering that it has been over ten
years since the last animated content aired. The original anime aired
in two seasons in 2010 and 2011, with a partial adaptation of the content from
the light novels. In total, the literary series has 12 main volumes
and 6 additional volumes, but the anime covered approximately up to the sixth
volume, reorganizing and adapting certain events, and including a large amount
of original content in the first season.
The author,
Kenji Inoue, also commented on the matter via his personal Twitter account,
commenting: " Hmm... Even though it's been ten years, the
characters in BakaTest still flow freely. Maybe they really do fit my style
well ." This message has been interpreted by many as a sign
that the author could be directly involved in the new projects, which would
further increase interest for the announcement scheduled for May 9.
"Baka
to Test to Shoukanjuu" remains one of the most memorable school comedies
of the past decade, and this move has rekindled enthusiasm for a possible
revival of the franchise in the audiovisual world. The only thing
missing is for the aforementioned commercial to end up being a miserable
collaboration.
Synopsis
of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu
Fumizuki
Academy is no ordinary high school. There, students are divided into classes
based on exam results, from Class A (the best) to Class F (the worst). Akihisa
Yoshii ends up in Class F, which has deplorable facilities. Fortunately, he's
joined by his friend Yuuji Sakamoto and, surprisingly, Mizuki Himeji, a
brilliant student who failed the exam due to illness. Together, they decide to
take on the upper classes using the Exam Summoning Battle system, where
students fight with avatars whose power reflects their grades. Can Class F
exceed expectations and rise to the top?
