The Crayon
Shin-chan franchise is back with its 32nd film, titled Eiga Crayon Shin-chan:
Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers. On May 29, the official trailer was
released, announcing that Japanese rock band Saucy Dog will perform the theme
song, "Spice," which can also be heard in part in the trailer.
An
adventure of Rhythm and Color in Indian Lands
The story
will be set in India, marking the first time a film in the franchise is set in
this country, where the character of Shin-chan enjoys enormous popularity. The
film will be the first in the Shin-chan universe to feature dance and music as
its main theme, with Shinnosuke and the Kasukabe Defense Force moving to the
rhythm of this new adventure.
New
Characters and a Stellar Cast
Actor Kento
Kaku, known for his roles in live-action adaptations such as Clover and Like a
Dragon: Yakuza, will voice Wolf, an eccentric Indian billionaire who sings and
dances. This character promises to be one of the film's highlights.
Release
and Production
The film is
scheduled for release in Japanese theaters on August 8, 2025 (UTC+2). Veteran
Masakazu Hashimoto, who has directed several previous installments in the
franchise, returns to the helm. The script will be written by Kimiko Ueno, also
a series regular.
A look
back at the previous success
The
previous film, Crayon Shin-chan: Ora-tachi no Kyōryū Nikki, opened in Japan on
August 9, 2024, selling over 500,000 tickets in its first few days and ranking
second at the box office. The success of this installment has raised
expectations for the next film.
With exotic
dancing, original music, and a new setting, this new film promises to be one of
the most refreshing and fun in the entire series.
