This Saturday,
April 27 , mangaka Satoshi Morie announced that
his Killing Line series will conclude with the next
chapter, scheduled for Thursday, May 30, in Kodansha 's Be
Love magazine . The news comes just days after the series resumed
publication after a hiatus.
A date
with death… and with romance
Killing
Line immerses
us in the life of Mako , a young woman who, after being
abandoned by her father on her 18th birthday , struggles to
survive financially. In her desperation, she accepts a friend's proposal to
meet a sugar daddy , with the intention of having a quiet
dinner and making some easy money.
However,
fate has other plans: her date crosses paths with a hitman ,
who targets the mysterious man Mako was supposed to meet. The problem: the
killer leaves no witnesses . Thus begins a dangerous and twisted
adventure where Mako must use all her wits—and charm—to survive a night that
could be her last.
A deadly
romance that captivated thousands
The
manga debuted in Be Love magazine in June 2023 and quickly captured
the attention of readers for its unusual blend of suspense, romance,
and dark humor . The fourth compiled book volume was
published on March 13, 2025. In English, the series is
distributed by Kodansha USA .
The
legacy of Satoshi Morie
Before Killing
Line , Morie had already won over audiences with Searching for
My Perfect Brother ( Watashi no Tadashii Onii-chan ),
also published in Be Love between 2018 and 2020 . This
work received a live-action adaptation that premiered
in October 2021 on Fuji on Demand and was
streamed on the Viki platform under the title My Right
Older Brother .
Happy
ending or last supper?
With its
combination of comedy, tension, and crime romance, Killing Line concludes
with readers on the edge of their seats. Will Mako be able to win the killer's
heart? Or will this be their last date?
The final
chapter will be available in Japan on May 30, 2025 , marking
the end of a story as dangerous as it is addictive.
