The
film Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved opens
in theaters in Japan on June 27 (local time), and it will do
so with an adorable surprise for those who attend in its first days. Each
viewer will receive an exclusive illustration at random, from a
total of six available designs, while supplies last.
The mini
illustrations are printed on color art paper and feature new versions
of the franchise's most beloved characters: Tohru, Kanna, Elma,
Quetzalcoatl, Ilulu, and Fafnir. Each design was created
especially for the occasion by Miku Kadowaki, who is also the
character designer and chief animation director of the feature film.
A film
that promises emotions and laughter
Under the
direction of Tatsuya Ishihara and with the Kyoto
Animation studio in charge of animation, the new Dragon Maid film
installment will expand the universe of the series with an original and moving
story. The script is written by Yuka Yamada, who also participated
in the television series.
This film
is presented as a new opportunity to delve into Tohru's story
and his links with the other characters, maintaining the characteristic balance
between absurd humor and emotional moments that have made the franchise so
popular.
A
phenomenon that continues to grow
The
original manga, created by Coolkyousinnjya, is published in Futabasha's Manga
Action magazine. In addition, the publisher Seven Seas
Entertainment distributes the English version, which has allowed the
series to gain popularity globally.
Currently, Crunchyroll offers
in its catalog the complete series of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid in
subtitled and dubbed versions. The platform describes the story as that of an
ordinary office worker whose life takes an unexpected turn when she saves a
wounded dragon who, in order to pay off her debt, decides to become her new and
enthusiastic housemate.
With the
release of this film, Japanese fans will not only enjoy a new adventure, but
they will also be able to take home an exclusive souvenir that
celebrates the affection for these beloved characters.
