The
official website of the Summer Pockets anime, based on the
visual novel developed by Visual Arts/Key, has revealed its fifth
promotional video along with a new official image dedicated to the
character Ao Sorakado, played by Natsumi Takamori. This
new preview delves into the summer melancholy that surrounds the story and the
personality of one of its most beloved protagonists.
A nostalgic summer that continues to touch heart
The series,
which premiered on April 7 in Japan via Tokyo MX and BS11,
and is streaming on Crunchyroll for international audiences,
continues to captivate audiences with its leisurely pace and charming
aesthetics. Other channels such as MBS, Shizuoka
Broadcasting System, AT-X and TV Setouchi have
also broadcast the series since that same week.
From the
game to the screen: a story that transcends formats
Summer
Pockets was
born as a visual novel for PC in June 2018 in Japan. Its
success led to versions for Nintendo Switch (released in
2019), mobile, and PlayStation 4. An extended
edition, titled Summer Pockets REFLECTION BLUE, was released in
2020. The English version of the game has been available on PC since February
2020 via Steam.
A
creative cast with big names
Creator Jun
Maeda, known for his work on Clannad and Angel
Beats!, is responsible for the original concept. The character design and
art was handled by Na-Ga, Tsubasu Izumi, Nagayama and Fumuyun,
while the script was written by Yū Niijima, KAI and Hasama.
The music includes compositions by Maeda and other prominent performers such
as Shinji Orito, Donmaru, and Tomohiro
Takeshita.
