The
official site of the anime With You and the Rain (Ame to
Kimi to), based on the original manga by Kō Nikaido, has
revealed a new promotional video featuring its opening theme,
performed by Mamiko Suzuki under the title "Ame
to." It has also been confirmed that the closing theme will be
titled "filled." and will be performed by Kei
Sugawara.
Release date and exclusive preview
The series
will make its debut on July 5 at 6:30 p.m. (Spanish time, UTC+2) within
the NUMAnimation programming block of TV Asahi and
23 other affiliated broadcasters. The Crunchyroll platform
will also broadcast the series simultaneously for its international audience.
Prior to
the premiere, there will be an advance screening on June 29 at
the United Cinema Minatomirai, an event that will feature voice
cast members.
A story
as tender as it is unusual
The anime
is directed by Tomohiro Tsukimisato at the Lesprit studio,
while Tōko Machida oversees the scripts and Ayano
Ōwada is in charge of character design. The original work has been
published since August 2020 in Kodansha's Young
Magazine, and Kodansha USA Publishing distributes the
digital version in English.
The story
follows a young girl who adopts what appears to be a dog, although her behavior
raises questions about her true nature. Even so, she decides to stay with him,
and from that moment on her daily life is transformed into a series of curious,
endearing and fun moments.
