During the Anime Expo 2025, Netflix Anime presented its big bets for 2025 and 2026, highlighting among them the long-awaited second part of the final season of BEASTARS. Along with the announcement, a new promotional image was revealed marking the beginning of the end for Legoshi and Haru.
The second
part of this final season will arrive sometime in 2026, concluding
the adaptation of Paru Itagaki's popular manga. This latest
installment promises to close all narrative arcs around the complex bonds
between carnivores and herbivores in Cherryton Academy.
The
creative team remains
Shinichi
Matsumi, luckily,
due to the work he has been doing, will continue as director of the project
under the acclaimed Studio Orange, while Nanami Higuchi will
continue to be in charge of the scripts, guaranteeing stylistic and narrative
continuity.
An
international phenomenon
The first
season of BEASTARS premiered in December 2019 in
Japan via Fuji TV, and arrived on Netflix internationally in March 2020.
Its second season was released on July 15, 2021,
and the first part of the final season debuted in 2024.
A world
divided by instinct and emotion
The story
begins with the brutal murder of a herbivorous student at Cherryton Academy,
which unleashes distrust between species. Legoshi, a gray wolf
member of the drama club, is the prime suspect. While struggling with his
carnivorous nature, he meets Haru, a shy dwarf rabbit who stirs up
conflicting feelings in him. Is it desire? Is it love? Or something deeper?
With
a mature, intense and visually striking plot, BEASTARS has
become one of the most influential series in modern animation. His final
farewell will come in 2026, and fans are already counting the days.
