The
series Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole, one of the most
peculiar supernatural bets of this season, has released its opening and
closing videos without credits. The sequences were released on Monday
by Avex Pictures and show a visual preview of the unique
characters – and creatures – that will accompany Mogura on his eccentric
journeys.
An
introduction marked by the spiritual
The opening
theme, titled "Kamitanomi" and performed
by syudou, introduces viewers to the strange universe where ghosts
and humans intersect. The animation exhibits a parade of figures that will
shape the adventures of the protagonist.
A
melancholic and enigmatic farewell
For its
part, the ending is set to music by Sheeno Mirin and
Aile The Shota with the song "Kenou". This
segment offers a more contemplative tone, enveloping the viewer in a nostalgic
atmosphere that reflects the duality between the comic and the spiritual of
anime.
Creative
team with supernatural experience
The project
is directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori (An Archdemon's Dilemma:
How to Love Your Elf Girlfriend) under the production of the
Brain's Base studio. The script is written by Shinzo Fujita (To
Your Eternity), while the character design was developed by Yoko
Tanabe (Handyman Saitou in Another World). The music is the
work of Tomoki Hasegawa (Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young
Again).
A story
where the living and the dead cross paths
Based on
the original manga by Natsumi Eguchi, the story follows Momoyuki
Mogura, a shadowy hermit who has been expelled from the afterlife. Armed
with a lantern containing spirit-possessed will-o'-the-wisps,
Mogura wanders among the living in hopes of returning to his former world. His
presence provokes strange events in those around him, giving way to a narrative
full of supernatural comedy. Crunchyroll streams
the anime in simulcast, while Kodansha publishes the manga in
English through its K-MANGA platform.
