On the
occasion of "Sunflower Day", the ambitious animated
project Grow Up Show: Himawari no Circus-dan (The Sunflower
Circus) was announced, an original production of Aniplex, A-1
Pictures and the new label Psyde Kick Studio. Its premiere
is scheduled for sometime in 2026.
A
top-notch creative team
The anime
will be directed by Kanta Kamei, recognized for works such as Oreshura and Saekano,
while the original character design is by Kurehito Misaki, also
known for illustrating the light novel Saekano: How to Raise a Boring
Girlfriend. The script will be in the hands of Takeshi Kikuchi,
also responsible for the supervision of the scripts, known for his work
on Skeleton Knight in Another World.
The
Birth of Psyde Kick Studio
This
project marks one of the first works under the newly founded Psyde Kick
Studio label, established on July 1 by A-1 Pictures.
The studio was created with the aim of fostering greater creative freedom and
exploring new narrative possibilities in the world of Japanese animation.
According to those in charge, they seek to break with traditional structures and
promote young creators with fresh and innovative proposals.
High
expectations for an unforgettable show
Although
specific details about the plot of Grow Up Show are still
unknown, its first teaser visual has already been revealed and
generates expectation among fans of the original anime. With the backing of
three big names in the industry and a focus on the artistic and emotional,
everything points to this production being one of the most anticipated
premieres of 2026.
