The
long-awaited continuation of the anime Recarnated as a Sword was
officially announced to air in Japan during the year 2026. Along
with this confirmation, an "ultra teaser" image was published
showing Fran soaring through the skies riding Teacher,
the living sword protagonist of the series.
The
creative team and production
Director Shinji
Ishihara will continue to lead the second season, with studio
C2C in charge of animation. In addition, Atsuko Saito will
continue as character designer and Takahiro Nagano will handle
the composition of the series. This new season was first announced in December
2022.
Origin
and broadcast of the first season
The
original story is based on the Reincarnated as a Sword light
novel series, published in Japan by Micro Magazine under
the GC Novels imprint. The script is the work of Yuu
Tanaka and the art of Ruroo. In English, the license
corresponds to Seven Seas Entertainment.
The first
season aired between October and December 2022 with a total of 12 episodes and
is available for streaming on HIDIVE, which will also offer the
second season.
Synopsis
of this original story
Instead of
being reborn as a powerful warrior or wizard, the protagonist of this story is
reincarnated as a sword with a conscience. Its bearer is Fran, a
young woman who is fleeing from traffickers who intend to sell her as a slave.
Thanks to the support of the Teacher sword, he manages to
defeat his pursuers and regain his freedom. Together, this teacher-student duo
sets out on an epic journey to liberate the oppressed and punish the cruel.
