The romantic comedy The Oblivious Saint is coming as an anime

During the "Earth Star Novel 10th Anniversary Summer Festival" event, Japanese publisher Earth Star Entertainment announced that the romantic fantasy light novel The Oblivious Saint Can't Contain Her Power: Forget My Sister! Turns Out I Was the Real Saint All Along!, written by Almond and illustrated by Yoshiro Ambe, will be adapted into a television anime.


The news was accompanied by a teaser trailer and a promotional image that can already be seen on the official website and on the X (formerly Twitter) account of the series.



A luxury cast for a story full of emotions


Along with the announcement, the three main characters of the anime and their respective voices were revealed:



  • Rie Takahashi (Megumin en KonoSuba) dará vida a Carolina Sánchez.
  • Makoto Furukawa (Saitama en One Punch Man) interpretará a Edward Ruby Martínez.
  • Haruka Shiraishi (Asirpa en Golden Kamuy) será la voz de Flora Sánchez.

The three seiyuus shared messages with fans expressing their enthusiasm for the project. Rie Takahashi commented that the team is working with dedication and hopes that the public will enjoy the result. For his part, Makoto Furukawa stressed that the anime will address issues of political relations and conflicts between nations, and that there are many interesting characters yet to be announced. Finally, Haruka Shiraishi expressed her admiration for the strength of the protagonists, pointing out that the work can be interpreted in different ways depending on the point of view of each viewer.


A story of overcoming in a unique full world


The original novel was first published on the independent novel portal Shousetsuka ni Narou between 2020 and 2023. Subsequently, Earth Star Entertainment released a print edition under its Earth Star Luna label, with a total of four volumes. In addition, a manga adaptation illustrated by Yona Eto has been published since April 2022 in Comic Earth Star, accumulating six volumes to date. Collectively, the franchise has surpassed one million copies in print.


What is "The Oblivious Saint" about?


The story follows Carolina, the forgotten daughter of a powerful duke. While her older sister shines as a prodigious magician and future Saint of the kingdom, Carolina leads a discreet life without aspirations... until a royal order changes its fate. Forced into a political marriage to the feared Bloodthirsty Prince of the Malcosian Empire, Carolina is thrown into a world full of intrigue, conflict and unexpected love. Gradually, she begins to discover that the true power was within her all along.


The publisher J-Novel Club has already licensed the novel and manga for publication in English, which opens the door to a greater international dissemination of this promising story.
