The
film Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: TABOO NIGHT XXXX has
achieved a cumulative gross of 1.432 billion yen (approximately 9.81
million dollars) in just 60 days since its premiere
on May 9, according to Oricon News. By June 25, the
film had already surpassed the 1 billion yen barrier in just 46 days.
One of
the most successful films of the year
This
installment marks the third concert film in the hit Uta no
Prince-sama franchise. The film debuted in 135 theaters and
remained in the top 10 of the Japanese box office for seven consecutive
weekends. Although it fell from the ranking in its eighth week, it managed
to return to tenth place during its ninth weekend on the card.
Currently, it ranks as the sixth highest-grossing Japanese anime film
of 2025.
4DX Features from July 18
The
project's official website announced that, starting July 18, the
film will be available in 4DX format in select theaters in
Japan. This technology allows the seats to synchronize with the scenes of the
film, offering special effects such as movement, wind, water, aromas
and smoke, thus providing a fully immersive experience. The projected
content will be the same as that shown during the sixth week of
exhibition.
Exclusive
gift postcards from July 11
As an added
incentive, it was announced that an exclusive "QUARTET NIGHT"
postcard, illustrated by character designer Maki Fujioka, will
be distributed to attendees at the screenings from July 11. This
postcard will be a limited edition, so an increase in the influx to
cinemas is expected.
With a
constantly rising box office and new special screenings on the horizon, TABOO
NIGHT XXXX reaffirms the convening power of Uta no Prince-sama among
its fans and promises to continue leaving its mark on the Japanese box office
in 2025.
