The most
elegant romance of the year already has a date! The anime adaptation of Mika
Yamamori's popular manga, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk (Uruwashi
no Yoi no Tsuki), has officially confirmed that it is scheduled to premiere
on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The series will air at 4:30 p.m. (JST)
on TBS and its affiliates in Japan.
Along with
the announcement, a second promotional video and a key visual image were
released where we see the protagonists under a soft sunlight. The video lets us
hear for the first time the closing theme, entitled "Azalea no
Kaze", performed by the band UNISON SQUARE GARDEN. It
should be noted that this same band will also be in charge of the opening
theme, "Uruwashi".
In
addition, two luxury additions to the voice cast were revealed:
- Kensho Ono (Giorno Giovanna in JoJo's
Bizarre Adventure) as Takuto Oji, known as the "third
prince". Ono said she hopes to convey her character's gentle and
refreshing charm.
- Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami Kento in Jujutsu
Kaisen) as Yoi's father. Tsuda stressed that the play
delves into the pain and uncertainty of growing up beyond romance.
Production
and Plot
The
direction is in the hands of Yusuke Maruyama, with character
designs by Hiroki Fukuda. The animation is a joint effort
between East Fish Studio and Atelier Peuplier. The
original manga is currently published in Kodansha's Dessert magazine.
The story
follows Yoi Takiguchi, a girl admired for her "prince"
appearance, and her encounter with Kohaku Ichimura, another
"prince" of the school, sparking a clumsy but straightforward
youthful romance.
