Origin
and development of manga
Busa-men
Gachi-Fighter SSS—whose
subtitle SSS stands for Sugoi Side Story—is the
direct follow-up to Kozuki's manga adaptation of the novel Busamen
Gachi Fighter, written by Ryō Hiromatsu. The sequel began
serialization in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine
on December 25, 2024, and its first volume went on sale on June
25.
From the
first anime adaptation
The
original manga adaptation debuted in 2017 and ended in 2020, accumulating a
total of six volumes published by Square Enix. This story, known in
English as Uglymug, Epicfighter, follows Shigeru, an
extremely physically unattractive man – with an attractiveness level of -255 –
who suffers pain when touching women and who could literally tear himself apart
in sexual acts. Despite these disadvantages, in another world he becomes an
incredibly strong fighter.
From
webnovel to animation
The
original Hiromatsu novel began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō portal
in 2015 and reached its conclusion in October 2022. Kobunsha published
a physical volume in 2018. Currently, the work has an anime adaptation on
air since July 6, 2025, available on Crunchyroll for
various regions.
