This weekend marked the 20th anniversary of the Gintama Multiverse Festival, an event that has left great news for fans. Among the most prominent announcements are a new film and the confirmation of the release date of the spin-off 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-Sensei.
The film
"Yoshiwara on Fire" returns in 2026
The new
film project in the franchise will be New Gintama the Movie: Yoshiwara
in Flames, a readaptation of the iconic manga arc. This had already been
taken to anime in 2009 over eight episodes, but now it will arrive with a renewed
version on the big screen, scheduled for release in 2026. Along
with the announcement, a teaser, trailer and a promotional
image were revealed that aroused nostalgia among followers.
The
spin-off Ginpachi-Sensei arrives in October
On the
other hand, the spin-off series 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-Sensei already
has a confirmed premiere date: October 6, 2025 (Spain time).
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, a key
image and details of its soundtrack.
The opening theme will be "Sakurakaze" performed by BOTCHI BOROMARU, while the closing theme will be performed by LONGMAN with "Underclass HERO." The new visual highlights the presence of the charismatic students led by Ginpachi-sensei.

The
spin-off is directed by Natsumi Higashida, under the supervision
of Makoto Moriwaki. The series is composed by Kazuyuki
Fudeyasu, while character design and animation direction are in charge
of Shinji Takeuchi. The music is provided by Audio Highs,
a widely recognized team in the franchise.
