From Fullmetal Alchemist to Yomi no Tsugai: Arakawa's new anime already has a date

During the Aniplex Online Fest, it was confirmed that Hiromu Arakawa's Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Yomi no Tsugai) manga will have an anime adaptation that will debut in 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a promotional video and the reveal of its main cast.


Confirmed starring cast


The first names revealed put a weighty cast on the table: Kenshō Ono will play Yuru, Yume Miyamoto will voice Asa, Yūichi Nakamura will be Dera and Misaki Kuno will play Gabu-chan. A team that promises to bring Arakawa's dark universe to life.



A luxury staff at Bones


The direction is in charge of Masahiro Andō (Sword of the Stranger) in Bones FilmNoboru Takagi (KingdomGolden Kamuy) will oversee the scripts, while Nobuhiro Arai (Bungo Stray Dogs) will be in charge of character design. The music will be in the hands of Kenichiro Suehiro, known for his work in Re:ZERO and Golden Kamuy.


About the original work


Yomi no Tsugai is the most recent project of Hiromu Arakawa, author of classics such as Fullmetal Alchemist and Silver Spoon. The manga began publication in December 2021 within Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine. To date it has accumulated 10 volumes, with the most recent released on July 11, 2025.


The announcement reinforces Bones as one of the strongest studios to bring stories full of action and emotional background. Arakawa's work promises a tale of demons, family and hidden secrets, which will seek to conquer both longtime fans and new followers.
