During the New York Comic Con 2025, the anime production team Witch Hat Atelier presented a new promotional visual starring Koko and Qifrey, with which they welcomed those attending the event. The long-awaited manga adaptation of Kamome Shirahama it also confirmed a major change to its release schedule.
Originally scheduled to premiere in 2025, the project was postponed until 2026. According to the official statement, the decision seeks to “present the charm of the project with even greater
quality”. The team thanked fans for their support and assured that they will continue working to offer a version that does justice to the original material.
Production team confirmed
The anime will be directed by Ayumu Watanabe, known for his work in Ace Attorney and the movies of Doraemon. The animation is in charge of the studio BUG FILMS, while Hiroaki Kojima (Komi-san wa, Komyushou desu.) works as a producer. Kairi Unabara (Pokémon Evolutions) is in charge of character design and Yuka Kitamura (Elden Ring) composes the soundtrack.
