Being a Pokémon Master was never an easy task in video games, and it seems that real life will not be left behind either. The franchise will eventually have its own themed section within the amusement park Yomiuriland in Tokyo, Japan. However, a curious detail has been revealed: attendees will have to pass a small "fitness test" to prove that they really have what it takes to catch them all.
Two areas, two different experiences
The new installation, called PokePark Kanto, was announced as a permanent attraction that will open its doors on February 5, 2026. Just like the games it seeks to emulate, the park will be divided into two main sections: Sedge Town and the Pokémon Forest.
On the one hand, Sedge Town it will function like the typical towns that trainers visit on their adventure, packed with gift shops, special shows, and rides. It is the accessible and relaxed area for the entire public.
The Pokémon Forest Challenge
Things change when we talk about Pokémon Forest. This area seeks to replicate the experience of traversing the wild routes of the games, crossing tall grass and searching for creatures. To maintain this realism, visitors will have to walk a nature trail of about 500 meters, which includes sections of grass, elevation changes and even tunnels.
Due to the nature of the land, the entrance policy PokePark Kanto it establishes a strict requirement: aspiring coaches must have the ability to climb 110 steps without assistance. Those who cannot comply with this will not be able to enter the forest. Additionally, children under five years of age are prohibited from entering this specific area, even if accompanied. Fortunately, there are cheaper types of tickets that allow access only to Sedge Town for those who prefer to avoid the walk.
