Kadokawa recruits staff to develop video games for its anime

If you ever thought there were too many great anime without a video game to match, Kadokawa seems to agree with you. The Japanese publishing giant, known for being the parent company of the acclaimed studio FromSoftware (creators of Elden Ring), has launched a massive recruitment campaign. The goal is clear: to stop being just a traditional publisher to start producing video games internally based on its massive manga, light novels and anime IPs.

According to Japanese media reports, the company is looking to hire experienced producers, assistants, and marketing leaders to manage these adaptations. The strategy is ambitious: they want to control the entire life cycle of the work, from the creation of the original story to its adaptation into a video game, without depending so much on third parties. Currently, they are already preparing their first global project: a multiplatform title based on the anime The Rising of the Shield Hero.

An arsenal of studies under your arm

It's not that they're new to this. In addition to FromSoftwareKadokawa owns studios such as Spike Chunsoft (Danganronpa), Acquire (Tenchu), and Gotcha Gotcha Games (RPG Maker). With this move, and with multiple projects yet to be announced for mobile, PC and consoles, it seems that we will see an explosion of official games of our favorite series in the coming years.
