The dilemma of falling in love with your childhood friends is hitting global screens. The official website of the anime adaptation of You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! (Osananajimi to wa LoveCom ni Naranai) released its second promotional video on Tuesday. The announcement confirmed that the series will premiere on January 5, 2026, and that Crunchyroll will handle its simulcast in the West.
The trailer revealed and offered a sneak peek of the opening theme, titled "I Love You♡," a collaboration between the HoneyWorks collective and lead voice actresses Rin Kusumi, Yu Serizawa, Sae Hiratsuka, and Yuki Yamamoto. On the other hand, the ending theme will be "Amanojaku", performed by Hikari Codama.
The animation is in charge of Tezuka Productions under the direction of Satoshi Kuwabara (The Quintessential Quintuplets), with scripts by Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend).
Synopsis
The story follows Eiyu, a high school student who begins to see his two childhood friends, Shio and Akari, with romantic (and somewhat lustful) eyes, despite believing that they have no interest in him. However, both girls hide their own secrets.
