The second season of Medalist reveals a new teaser and its premiere date

The ice rink is ready to welcome a new generation of competitors. The production team of the anime adaptation of the manga Medalist, the work of Tsurumaikada, revealed on Tuesday the first complete promotional video for its second season. The trailer confirmed that the series will return to Japanese television on January 24, 2026, bringing with it a dozen new characters.

The trailer offered a sneak peek of the new opening theme, titled "Cold Night," performed by girl group HANA. In addition, a luxury reinforcement for the technical production was announced: professional figure skater Rika Hongo will participate in the motion capture filming, joining medalist Akiko Suzuki, who worked on the first season.

New rivals on the court


The season will feature numerous female skaters competing against Inori. The new cast includes:


  • Natsuko Abe as Yuna Yagi
  • Mao Itou as Rinna Sarukawa
  • Maria Naganawa (Kanna Kamui in Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon) as Roba Manaka
  • Minami Tanaka (Mary Saotome in Kakegurui) as Yotsuha Ushikawa
  • Hikaru Tono (Anna Yanami in Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!) as Kurumi Risu.
  • Takako Tanaka as Sakina Anaguma
  • Yuko Natsuyoshi as Sana Niwatori
  • Hibiku Yamamura as Iruka Okazaki
  • Kotomi Aihara as Riina Kojo
  • Ai Kayano (Darkness on KonoSuba) as Marika Kurione

Staff & Production


Yasutaka Yamamoto returns to direct the series at the ENGI studio. Jukki Hanada (Sound! Euphonium) continues to be in charge of the composition of the series, with character designs by Chinatsu Kameyama and music by Yuuki Hayashi (Haikyuu!!). The first season was streamed through Disney+ and Hulu.
