The alarms have
gone off in the headquarters of Company 8. According to a recent leak from the
well-known insider Sugoilite, the second part of the third season
of Fire Force (Enen no Shouboutai), scheduled to
premiere on January 9, 2026, would have just 13 episodes.
Mission
Impossible for David Production?
The problem lies
in mathematics. To conclude the story, the studio must adapt the
approximately 88 remaining chapters of Atsushi Ōkubo's manga
(from 217 to 304). If the rumor is true, this would force a frenetic pace of
more than 6 episodes per episode, well above the usual industry average.
The Ghost of
Tokyo Ghoul
Fans fear
that Fire Force will suffer the same fate as infamous
adaptations such as the second season of The Promised Neverland or Tokyo
Ghoul:re, where entire arcs were removed and character development was
sacrificed for speed. Although David Production has maintained
stellar quality so far, the community speculates if this is a planning error or
if the studio has an ace up its sleeve, such as a final film to close the work
with the dignity it deserves.
