The franchise of
the most artillery magical girl in anime celebrates two decades of history with
a big announcement. Through its official accounts, it was confirmed that the
new commemorative project, entitled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS
Gun Blaze Vengeance, has its premiere scheduled for next July.
This project marks the return of the series to television as part of the celebrations for its 20th anniversary. The Seven Arcs studio will once again be in charge of the animation, maintaining the visual continuity that has defined the saga in its latest cinematic installments.
To ensure the
fidelity of the work, the creator of the franchise, Masaki Tsuzuki,
is credited as the author of the original story and head writer. The direction
falls back to Takayuki Hamana, who previously directed the films Magical
Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection and Detonation. The
character design and lead animation direction are in the hands of Issei
Aragaki, based on the original designs of Shūichi Kawakami.
Connections
to the manga
This production is
linked to the manga Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS, which
began publishing on Kodansha's Suiyōbi no Sirius service
in April 2025. The story features a 13-year-old Nanoha Takamachi,
who continues to work energetically as a magician to help others. Tsuzuki
himself drafts the concept for this printed version, while Kawakami is in
charge of the art.
