The conflict between the Imperium and the Sovereignty of Nebulis is about to render its final judgment. Author Kei Sazane took advantage of the New Year's celebrations to reveal, through his official account on X (formerly Twitter), that his series of light novels Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World has officially entered its final battle stage.

The announcement on January 1 was accompanied by a special illustration and brought double news for the author's followers. Sazane confirmed that the manga adaptation of another of his works, Sekai no Owari no Encore, illustrated by Ryū Usui and featuring character designs by Haruaki Fuyuno, has also entered its final arc, marking a year of conclusion for its franchises.

Trajectory of the work

The original novel, illustrated by Ao Nekonabe, began publication under Kadokawa's imprint in May 2017, accumulating 16 volumes to date. Its popularity led to a manga adaptation in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine and a spin-off titled Secret File.

The eventful passage through the anime

The franchise inspired an anime adaptation that had a complicated journey recently. After a first season in 2020, the second season suffered multiple delays, finally premiering in July 2024. However, the broadcast was stopped in August of that same year to "maintain quality", resuming from the first episode only in April 2025.
