Nostalgia
has hit hard this Wednesday. To celebrate Ouran High School Host Club's
20th anniversary, the franchise launched a temporary official account on X
(@ouran_20th) today, January 21, 2026. The movement, led by Nippon
Television and Studio Bones, has set off alarm bells for fans who
have been waiting for the return of Haruhi and the hosts for two decades.
Will
there be a reboot for the anniversary of Ouran High School Host Club?
"The
anime's official account is now live! We will deliver the latest information on
the 20th anniversary," reads the first message. Considering that the
original 2006 anime had an original ending and didn't adapt all of Bisco
Hatori's manga (which ended in 2010), speculation about a
faithful Brotherhood-style remake or a second season is
red hot.
Haruhi
and Tamaki's legacy
The story
of how commoner Haruhi Fujioka breaks an 8 million yen vase and ends up dressed
as a boy in a club of eccentric hosts is still a reference. Her deconstruction
of romantic clichés and her progressive themes about gender identity keep her
current.
With
exclusive events on Animate selling out in minutes and new artwork revealed,
the ground is set. Is it just nostalgia or are we facing the rebirth of the
Host Club?
