The wait has been
long, but the strongest mob is ready to return. Kadokawa officially
confirmed on Monday that the second season of the anime
adaptation of Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is
Tough for Mobs (Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai Desu)
will premiere on television in 2026. This announcement comes four
years after the production of the sequel was revealed in 2022.
Along with the
date, a visual teaser was revealed that has captured the attention
of fans for a specific detail: the artistic style. The production has
completely revamped the character designs, addressing one of the most frequent
criticisms of the first season. The image shows Leon Fou Bartfort wearing
an unknown outfit and protecting Marie from the smoke of
battle, anticipating the arc of the island of the elves.
The ENGI studio
maintains the reins of the project with the return of the main staff. Kazuya
Miura returns to direct, while Kenta Ihara is again
in charge of the scripts. Masahiko Suzuki returns as character
designer and chief animation director, responsible for overseeing the new
visual aesthetic. We leave you with a comparison between the designs of the
first season and those renewed for this second season.
About Trapped
in a Dating Sim
The original story
is a series of light novels written by Yomu Mishima and
illustrated by Monda. It began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō site
in 2017 and ended with its 13th volume in March 2024 under Micro
Magazine's GC Novels imprint.
The franchise also
has a manga adaptation that recently changed the artist and title for its
"Study Abroad" arc, after the original artist, Jun Shiosato,
decided to withdraw from the project. The plot follows Leon, an office worker
reincarnated in an Otome video game where men have no power, who uses his
knowledge of the game to rebel against the system.
