An agricultural
romantic comedy returns from fallow land for its final harvest. During
the GA Fes 2026 event held this Sunday, it was announced that
the Nourin (No-Rin) light novel series, written
by Shirow Shiratori, will conclude its nearly 15-year journey with
the release of its 14th volume on July 14.
This release marks
the first new publication in the series in ten years, breaking a long editorial
silence. To commemorate the occasion, the author launched a crowdfunding campaign
on the Soreosu de animate service with two clear objectives.
- If 2.5 million yen is reached, a
special edition of the final volume will be produced that will include a
commemorative booklet and a storage box complete with new Kippu art.
- If 8.5 million yen is achieved,
volumes 1 through 13 will be physically reprinted, allowing the entire
collection to be available on the market again.
About Nourin
The work began
publication under the GA Bunko label in August 2011, featuring
illustrations by Kippu and amassing more than 1
million copies in circulation. The story inspired a manga by Maru
Asakura and a 12-episode anime adaptation produced by Silver
Link in 2014.
The plot
follows Kousaku Hata, an idol-obsessed student who falls into
depression following the retirement of his favorite star, Yuka Kusakabe.
However, his life changes when Yuka transfers to his class under the name Ringo
Kinoshita, giving him a unique opportunity at his agricultural school to
discover the truth behind his retirement.
