Danmachi announces the production of its sixth season

Bell Cranel's adventure is not over yet. During the "Aedes Vesta" event, held this Saturday to commemorate the franchise's tenth anniversary, the production of the sixth season of Danmachi (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) was officially announced. The news was accompanied by the revelation of a promotional video.


This new chapter in the animated adaptation will continue to expand the vast fantasy world created by Fujino Omori, maintaining the legacy of a series that has been a mainstay of the genre for the past decade.



Danmachi Season Six Details


The franchise, produced by studio J.C. Staff, has maintained a consistent presence on television since its debut in the spring of 2015. The fifth and most recent season aired in the fall of 2024, with 15 episodes. With this announcement, it is confirmed that the adaptation of the light novels will go ahead, although release dates have not yet been specified.



About the franchise


The original light novel series, written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, began publication under the SB Creative imprint in January 2013. To date, the work has amassed more than 20 million copies in circulation. In addition to the main anime, the franchise has inspired:


  • An original film titled Arrow of the Orion (2019).
  • Three OVA episodes released between 2016 and 2021.
  • An anime adaptation of the spin-off Sword Oratoria (2017).
  • Multiple manga adaptations.
