The
television adaptation of the classic shojo manga continues to expand its cast.
The official website for the Hana-Kimi (Hanazakari no
Kimitachi e) anime unveiled its second key visual on Sunday along with the
confirmation of three new cast members. Among the announcements is the
participation of a veteran actor who returns to the franchise after having
participated in previous audio adaptations.
The series,
based on the work of the late Hisaya Nakajo, premiered on January
4, 2026 through the Tokyo MX channel, reviving the story of Mizuki Ashiya in
the boys' boarding school.

It is
noteworthy to mention that Takehito Koyasu is reprising the
same role he played in the manga's old drama CD, maintaining a direct
connection to the roots of the work.

The anime
is produced by studio Signal.MD under the direction of Natsuki
Takemura. The series is composed by Takao Yoshioka (Your
Lie in April), with character designs by Shiyi Su and
music composed by Masaru Yokoyama.
About
the work
Hisaya
Nakajo published the original manga in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine
between 1996 and 2004, accumulating 23 volumes. The author passed away in
October 2023 at the age of 50 due to a heart condition, leaving an important
legacy in the shojo genre that this new adaptation seeks to preserve.
