If you had
already lost hope and thought that this franchise was gathering dust in the
drawer of memories, we have excellent news for you. After a hiatus that felt
eternal, the No Game No Life light novel officially returns to
the shelves with its Volume 13. Save the date: The release is
scheduled for April 25, 2026, marking the end of a three-year
drought since the previous volume came out in 2023.
Yuu
Kamiya's health and the return to Disboard
The most
veteran fans know perfectly well why the pauses of this work are usually so
long. Its creator, Yuu Kamiya (who has the double merit of
writing the story and drawing the illustrations), has dealt with
recurring health problems for more than a decade. This
situation has forced him to keep a much slower pace of publication so as not to
compromise his well-being. That we finally have a date for Volume 13 is an
immense relief and proof that Kamiya remains committed to finishing the story
of the invincible gamer brothers.
A legacy
that refuses to die
For those
who came to the franchise for the legendary Madhouse anime in 2014 (or
for the prequel film No Game No Life: Zero in 2017), seeing
the novels continue to move forward is a mixture of joy and suffering. The rule
is clear: the Whites never lose, but anime fans continue to
lose patience waiting for the announcement of a second season that seems like
an urban myth. However, as long as the original material continues to sell and
produce new volumes, the flame of hope will continue to burn.
